Editor Tips: General Tips

About the animals, I think they are related
to the number of trees. A large forest will result in more
animals..
Remember, if you decide to leave out the
gold for the AI, it's not possible to build a large temple.
So if you want the AI to use priests, place them there in
advance.
When placing more than 1 AI on the map, you
could make them enemies and set it up in a way that they share
a mountain or something. That way they would fight each other
over that piece of land and hopefully weaken both their armies.
Set the tool width to narrow when placing
raw materials, 1 mouse click will be enough to create a spot
for a mine. So if you decide to give the AI these resources,
don't be too generous, it may not look like a lot, but it
goes a long way
Also you could use the elevation option to
slow the AI down. It can delay building time a lot if you
roughen the landscape.
About placing foundation buildings:
- start with placing grassland.
- if your new country has the desired shape,
place the foundation buildings and after that any other buildings
you want the players to start with.
- then you can place the different types
of land, change the elevations and finally place the objects
If you first place for instance dark grass,
you won't be able to place buildings on that. Also objects
like flowers and grassy things, or even the height of the
land, can prevent you from placing buildings. And of course..
first define how many players there should be, so you can
place buildings for all of them. After placing the foundation
buildings you will be able to place workmen in that area.
Specialists and military can also be placed outside of that
space.
